Balestri Valda
A new generation of wine growers
Laura Rizzotto
" My idea of viticulture is based on profound respect for the balance of nature.
I have said “no” to using pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers.
I have said “yes” to biodiversity, safeguarding indigenous grape varieties and beekeeping in the vineyards.
Where vines, flowers, woodland and orchards coexist, bees also find a happy home.
Every day I am increasingly grateful for everything that the bees give us and teach us; protecting them is the very least we can do. "

Rizzotto Family
Guido Rizzotto has dedicated his life to wine-making and is a man in love with his land; every day with endless dedication, Guido strives for excellence in the vineyards and in the cellar.
Today Laura, Guido’s daughter, guides the evolution of the company with her own personality. She loves nature and day after day brings creativity and sensitivity.
Milena, wife and mother, behind the scenes brings patience and gentleness providing balance to the family.
" Balestri Valda is our story; we are convinced that it is our great passion that transforms the beautiful craft of wine-making into the deep-seeded sense of pride that we each possess. "

" We have said “no” to chemicals so we cultivate our vineyards and olive groves according to the principles of organic farming; all of our agronomic practices aim to be an expression of a profound respect for nature and of harmony with the ecosystem. For this reason we have also enthusiastically taken up beekeeping, and our happy bees bear witness to the fact that protection of biodiversity is both right and possible.
We love our work, and we consider ourselves lucky to be surrounded by so much beauty: our gentle hills, the luxuriant woodland, the outline of the medieval castle on the horizon, and the colors of the countryside that change along with the seasons.
Ours lands have been devoted to the cultivation of vines for centuries. All of our vineyards lie on hillsides in the heart of the zone, where the terrain is rich and dark, and is of Volcanic origin. Certainly, working them is more demanding, but here the climate is mild and generous and the southerly exposure allows for just the right amount of sugar accumulation thanks to the abundance of sunlight.
We have always believed strongly in our local grape varieties and we have devoted ourselves exclusively to them, focusing on low yields per hectare in order to obtain higher quality. Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave are the mainstays of our winery, where we vinify them with maximum respect for our terroir. "
